What Should we Expect from Bob Bradley at Swansea?

Bob Bradley has recently been named the new manager of Swansea City. He comes over from Le Havre AC, who currently play in the French Ligue 2. While he is now the first American to coach in the Premier League, his signing wasn’t met with overwhelming acclaim. The Swansea supporters trust was upset that Bradley was hired without their approval, and there were others hoping for a Ryan Giggs appointment.

That being said, as an American, I’m happy to see this hiring. Bradley has shown that he’s able to coach at a high level. He has had decent success with both the United States and Egypt national teams.

So now the question is, what should we expect to see from Bob Bradley’s Swansea in the Premier League?

Bradley comes in with no rigid play style. He has always been a coach that is willingly to adjust his tactics to his team. I expect him to do the same with the Swans. It’s likely that Bradley will utilize Leroy Fer and Gylfi Sigurdsson to be the channels for the attack, but anything else is unclear.

But more so than any specific tactics, expect Bradley to coach a team that plays hard. They’ll be fighters, playing until the last whistle. This was a trademark of both his United States and Egypt squads, so I’d expect no different for the Welsh side.

In the end, I think Bradley will be a good fit for Swansea. After their poor start the players will need to show a little heart to their supporters as they move forward. I definitely expect them to improve in the coming weeks.
