Weekly Rankings: August 22

Staff

As the season gets set to enter the home stretch it’s become increasingly clear that this Cubs team is just that good. They’ve far and away been the best team this season and they have a very real chance of bringing a World Series Championship to the franchise.

That being said last season’s NL pennant winners continue to struggle. Plagued by bad offense the Mets just are not that good. I bet they wish they held onto Daniel Murphy now. On the American League side, the Royals have failed to stay consistent. They seem to fall down our rankings, only to climb back up the next week. If they want any chance at some more October baseball, they’ll need to fix that.

But with that being said our rankings stay largely the same this week. Some divisions are starting to separate while others look like they’re going to make for a great race. The AL East specifically, looks like it’s going to be one watch.
